So. Ga. Partnership to End Homelessness Coffeehouse 2012

The So. Ga. Partnership to End Homelessness shephards 10 families out of homelessness by providing counseling, education, and financial assistance for a 24 month period.  The first annual Coffeehouse event was held on 2/24/12 to raise funds for the organization. 

We had such a wonderful opportunity to be part of this Coffeehouse where everyone - organizers, the church fellowship hall, bakers who made cupcakes and other yummy baked goods, youth helpers, and The Beanery - donated their time so that 100% of the proceeds could be given to the Partnership. About $2,700 was raised. We served regular and decaf coffee, hot chocolate, and iced lattes.

Coffee House at the Wesley Foundation 11/18/11

The Beanery set up in the kitchen of the VSU Wesley Foundation on Friday night (11/18/11), serving up vanilla, caramel, and mocha latte's to a friendly, energetic group of college students. The stage was alive with comedy and musical talent!  I was surprised that one of my really quiet ECON students was actually a stand-up comedian!  And really funny too!  If only I had known that at the beginning of the semester (I could've used a comedy sidekick).
